Natural skin-care habits that still hold up
A 2026 reread of the old Anti Wrinkle Brisbane lifestyle column — fibre, movement, sugar, fats and sleep — kept as habits, not as a detox protocol.

In 2012 the clinic blog told readers to dry brush, eat fibre, move, cut sugar and take in essential fats. As a lifestyle column it was more grounded than the injectables internet that grew up later. As a results page it would fail our rules.
Here is the reread.
Water and fibre are digestion advice
The old post linked constipation talk to skin. Gut and skin can travel together in some diseases; they are not a lever you pull for a forehead line. Eat plants anyway. See a GP for persistent bowel change.
Movement helps the person, not a pore
A walk around the block in Kelvin Grove is good for sleep and mood. Inactivity was on the 2012 list as a puffiness villain. We will not promise that a skipping rope changes elastin. We will say that outdoor movement needs a sun plan: Queensland sunscreen and UV.
Sugar and glycation still deserve a page
That chemistry moved to glycation, sugar and skin. The habit — less added sugar, gradually — remains ordinary nutrition.
Fats are not a facial oil
The 2012 piece praised flax and fish. Those are dietary fats. Smearing kitchen oil on a face is a different, often pore-clogging, idea. Keep cooking oils in the kitchen.
Sleep and alcohol did not get a tip number and should have
Late nights and heavy weekends show on faces. They are still not a reason to book a prescription medicine. They are a reason to be honest in a consultation about recovery time.
What we drop from the archive
Anything that reads as “detox”, “eliminates puffiness for good”, or a testimonial. The editorial standards are stricter than 2012 WordPress culture.
Aloe on this page
The plant photograph is a Creative Commons file, not a product shot. Gel can soothe some sunburns for some people. It is not a collagen strategy. Credit: credits.
Questions readers ask
Is this the same as the 2012 “5 Tips” article?
It is a descendant. We kept the useful habits and removed anything that sounded like a guaranteed complexion change.
Will fish oil erase wrinkles?
No. Essential fats matter for general health and some inflammatory skin conditions. That is not a wrinkle outcome claim.
Do I need a “skin fit challenge”?
The old site ran a four-week challenge. Time-boxed projects can help habits. They do not match collagen turnover. Skip the countdown clock.
Can I send you a testimonial about my new routine?
Please do not. We do not publish testimonials. Corrections of fact are welcome via the contact form.
