Men use this domain. They type with fewer adjectives and the same ultraviolet. The old studio’s public face was not written for them. This page is.

Sun and work

Outdoor trades, cycling over the Story Bridge, and weekend cricket are common Brisbane UV patterns. Hats and sunscreen still lose to “I’ll only be a minute”. Queensland sunscreen and UV is not gendered.

The beard changes the map

Folliculitis, ingrowns and the way lines hide in stubble all change examination. Say how you shave. Bring that into a consultation if you have one.

Barrier abuse is a starter kit

Cheap wash, hot water, no moisturiser, then a 10-hour air-conditioned cab. Lines look sharper. Dry skin and barrier repair is the fix before a procedure search.

Alcohol, sugar and sleep

The 2012 lifestyle column applies here without the spa tone. Glycation and habits that hold up are the same biology.

Advertising that winks at “looking fresh”

Outcome language is still outcome language when it is aimed at men. AHPRA testimonials do not have a masculine exemption.

You can stay on everyday pages

Nothing on this site requires you to book anything. Facial ageing and everyday skin care are complete destinations.

Questions readers ask

Do men form wrinkles differently?

Skin thickness, beard, and patterns of sun exposure from work or sport can differ on average. Individuals still vary more than slogans. Do not treat a men’s magazine as anatomy.

Is shaving a form of exfoliation?

It removes hair and some surface cells. It also irritates. Pair it with a simple moisturiser and sunscreen, not a peel the same morning unless a practitioner has a plan.

Why are there so few men in clinic ads?

Marketing habit. It does not mean men are ineligible for assessment. It also does not mean they should be shown testimonials. We show neither.

Should men start with a GP?

If there is a lesion, a medicine list, or uncertainty, yes. The same fork as everyone else: see our who-to-see guide.
