Standards

Editorial standards

Facial ageing and cosmetic procedures are Your Money or Your Life topics. Readers make health decisions from pages like these. The following rules are binding on staff and guest contributors.

What this site is

General information for Australian readers. It is not clinical advice, not a booking channel, and not an advertisement for a health service that supplies prescription-only medicines.

AHPRA

  • No testimonials or purported testimonials about clinical care or appearance change.
  • No statements that a procedure will produce a particular look, age or emotional result.
  • No invented practitioner authority. We do not pose as treating clinicians.
  • When we mention higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures, we describe process, consent and risk in general terms and point readers to the AHPRA cosmetic surgery hub.

TGA

  • We do not advertise the use or supply of Schedule 4 cosmetic injectables. We do not publish brand names, nicknames, hashtags or price lists for those products.
  • When readers need the legal context, we explain that many wrinkle and volume treatments involve prescription-only medicines that a registered practitioner may or may not prescribe after a consultation.
  • Public sources: the TGA pages on advertising health services and cosmetic injections.

Evidence and tone

Prefer primary regulators and review papers over marketing blogs. Distinguish association from causation. Use “may”, “can” and “varies” where the evidence is individual. Do not write “results” copy.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected on the page and noted in the updated date. Send evidence through the contact form. Complaints about advertising law are also directed to AHPRA or the TGA as appropriate; see reporting concerns about a practitioner.

Commercial relationships

Paid or guest-placement links are marked rel="sponsored". Product mentions are not endorsements. See write for us and the privacy policy.
