Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of your skin’s hair follicles. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening, producing a bump called a comedone. If the skin over the bump stays closed, it’s called a whitehead. If the skin opens, exposure to the air makes it look black, and a blackhead forms.
Acne is a skin condition which can affect anyone and can have a big impact on your self-confidence. It occurs when your hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, resulting in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples.
As we age, our bodies natural collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. As a result of this natural ageing process and external factors such as sun exposure, wrinkles and loss of volume are inevitable. But looking old is avoidable. Reduce unwanted wrinkles and lines and reverse the effects of gravity to look as young as you feel.
Pigmentation is skin discolouration that appears as blotchy, brownish marks on the face and body. Pigmentation and uneven skin tone can be caused by sun damage, hormonal changes and general ageing, all of which result in your skin looking dull, patchy and older than you really are.
Redness and Rosacea occurs when the tiny vessels in the skin have dilated and remain dilated. This gives the skin an overall flushed look and is commonly seen on the cheeks, chin, and nose. Redness can be hard to cover with makeup and is often a unique skin concern to anyone that experiences it.
Open and enlarged pores are a problem experienced by men and women alike, with the two main causes being genetics and age. Ageing causes pores to become enlarged in appearance because as we lose our skin elasticity the walls of the pore lose structure. This then causes our pores to appear larger and more obvious.
Scars are a normal part of the body’s healing process, however, they can often be unappealing features on your skin and cause you to feel self-conscious and constantly trying to cover them up.
